This project was produced for the City of Minneapolis' Art in Public Places Program as part of the City's Hiawatha Yard Maintenance Facility renovation. The challenge was to provide a street presence for the facility along Hiawatha Ave, a significant traffic corridor into downtown Minneapolis with an existing soundwall. The project includes five large and seven small trellis structures with sculptural inserts and kinetic features. The site was then planted with ornamental grasses and various climbing vines which are over time encompassing the structures and wall. Project design collaborator, Carolyn Braaksma. Sculptural design and fabrication by Kaspari Design Services. 2011.
